From seed to bottle

Why Wood-Pressed?

Wood pressing is a traditional extraction method that uses slow mechanical pressure rather than intensive refining processes. This helps preserve the oil’s natural aroma, rich flavour and original characteristics — making it a preferred choice for generations.

SelectSeeds are cleaned and sorted before pressing.
Slow-pressA wooden pestle turns slowly in the ghani, gently crushing the seeds.
SettleThe freshly pressed oil rests so that natural sediment settles.
Filter & bottleThe oil is filtered and bottled — no intensive refining.

Getting the Best from Your Yellow Mustard Oil

How to store

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat — not right next to the stove.
  • Keep the cap tightly closed after every use.
  • Never let water or a wet spoon get into the bottle.
  • Best before 12 months from the date of packaging, as printed on the label. Once opened, use within a few months for the best aroma.

Natural sediment: wood-pressed oil is not heavily refined, so a little natural sediment or slight cloudiness at the bottom of the bottle is normal.

How to use

  • Everyday sabzi & dal tadka: heat until it just begins to smoke, lower the heat, then add your tempering.
  • Pickles: a milder mustard-oil base for chilli, lemon and mixed-vegetable achaar.
  • Raw use: its comparatively milder taste suits aloo chokha, salads and chutneys.
  • Shallow frying: pakoras, cutlets and parathas on steady medium heat.
